Victoria Smith-Murphy
Life Coach. Storyteller. Optimist.
HAVE YOU FORGOTTEN WHAT IT'S LIKE TO BE YOU?
Hi there. I’m Victoria, and I work with head-led people to help them connect with heart and gut, and stop second-guessing themselves..
Only through deeply understanding and connecting with yourself can you really decide what you want in life, and make change happen in your own unique way.
Focusing on yourself isn't selfish, and being connected to your emotions isn't fluffy. The happier and more connected we are as individuals, the happier and more connected we are as a society. And that, I hope you'll agree, can only be a good thing.

Coaching for Self-Connection
'You don't tile the roof during a thunderstorm. You tile the roof on a sunny day'
Who I work with
Wonderful, sparkling people
I work with a broad spectrum of clients who all share a desire to experience life to the absolute maximum, who don't see contradictions between money and positivity, family and freedom, success and kindness.
I work with change makers who are creating genuine, positive impact in the world, and help them amplify this.
I work with women who have experienced fertility issues, supporting them to understand their situation and decide how they want to react.
What happens in coaching
Magic. And it comes from you.
We work as a team to significantly deepen your understanding of yourself, gain new perspectives on your challenges, then create the change you want in your life. I work with clients on a whole-person basis, recognising that career, relationships, family life and confidence are all interlinked. Often, someone will come to me with a particular goal - to explore their next career step, or to be less scared in relationships - then quickly uncover insights that impact what they want in all areas of life.
My style
Playful, creative, emotional, safe, fun.
My style is varied and sessions are fluid. Highly intuitive and energetic, I love using creativity and storytelling techniques to get you out of your head and exploring new perspectives! Coaching is a life-changing experience - it certainly was for me. It can be tough. I bring humour and empathy, and provide a no-nonsense environment to build emotional resilience and make change happen.
The logistics
Not scary, I promise.
We meet for a free intro session. We discuss what coaching is about, how I work, and most importantly discuss what you're struggling with and what you want to achieve. We then commit to a minimum of 6 sessions to create real and significant change in your life.
I am fully qualified in Transformational Coaching, and working towards accreditation with the International Coaching Federation.
Coaching for Business Narrative
'If history were taught in the form of stories, it would never be forgotten.'
I help small businesses uncover, own and amplify their story
The best way for a business to connect with customers is to tell them a story they relate to.
Combining my extensive corporate experience in customer data and insights, with my skills of coaching and writing, I work with small businesses to understand what they want to be known for and who they want to influence. I then bring that to life with deeply engaging words.
How it works
Gain unprecedented clarity on your unique proposition, and transform that clarity into words.
During a coaching workshop, we'll explore the story you want to tell, and who you want to tell it to. We'll then agree what written content you need (website copy, press release, blog/opinion pieces etc), and I'll create it, amplifying the power of your story.

What others say.
And I didn't even bribe them
Laura, media agency director
'Victoria has had a significant impact on how I perceive myself and interact with others, in just the few coaching sessions we've had. I trust completely that she has a clear understanding of my goals and will support me in realising them. I can honestly say the hour I spend with Victoria each fortnight adds more focus and clarity to my life than anything else I do.'
Rebecca, managing director, www.bretom.com
'There are very few people who combine the attributes of intellect, creativity, passion and dedication. Victoria is one such person. Whether helping to refine the Bretom brand, tell our story or deliver copy for clients, Victoria has been a beacon of positivity and capability.’
Susie, entrepreneur
'The thing that I love about working with Victoria is her ability to get to the root of the problem so quickly. There have been things that I've spent years trying to understand and process, and within one session, she's identified a key part of the puzzle that moves me heaps closer to a resolution. The sessions are always really fluid, which I love.'
Mike, founder and CEO
'Being new to coaching, I was confused at first to be the one talking for most of each session, but it became clear that the questions Victoria would deliver were timed perfectly to reveal things about myself that were beyond my perception but essential to my success. She has enabled me to uncover truths about myself that can now be nurtured as strengths.'
Tracy, executive leadership consultant
'I found the process of creating my business narrative refreshing, extremely easy, and fun. Victoria is skilled at getting to the heart of the issue and took time to really understand me and my business. She has the ability to drill deep, ask the curious and challenging questions to simplify the concepts and the result was a compelling narrative.'
About Me
Motto: everything is funny. It's just a matter of perspective.
An eternal optimist
I’ve always been addicted to stories. Ever since I was a little girl, sat on my parents’ sofa every Saturday with another Enid Blyton book and a bag of Skittles (possibly why I had such terrible teeth).
Experienced, committed and logical
After many years’ working in leadership roles for blue-chip retailers and marketing agencies, I upped and left in 2014 to build a career that combined my professional experience with my desire to positively impact people at a individual level.
Tenacious, challenging and respectful
I make sense of the world and the role I can play in making it a more positive place, through meeting and learning from other people.
I met my husband whilst travelling in Cambodia in 2012 and moved to New York for a couple of years to be with him. As we've both learnt, marriage requires the ultimate in tenacity, patience and respect...
Endlessly curious
I’m completely fascinated by human thought and behaviour. I also love cheese, What’s App, travelling as far as possible on what I can fit in a backpack, and walking around cities for hours on end (preferably with someone to talk to).
